INSPRO was elected as the vice chairman Unit of China Insect Protein Industry Association, the Founder Elvis Yu was Invited to Attend the First Session of China Insect Protein Industry Conference

On November 17, the first China Insect Protein Industry Conference was held in Beijing. Co-hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce of Food, Native Produce and Animal Products and the Institute of Bee Research of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the conference's theme was "Promoting Ecological Cycles and Expanding Protein Sources."

Mr. Qian Keming, Member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Vice Chairman of the Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports Committee, and former Vice Minister of Commerce, noted in his speech that my country, as a global leader in aquaculture and livestock farming, faces an annual feed protein supply gap of over 37 million tons. This urgently requires the exploration of alternative protein feed resources to safeguard national food security. Insect protein, as a new sustainable protein source, is showing significant potential to alleviate this pressing issue. It is conservatively estimated that the insect protein industry's output value will exceed 100 billion RMB over the next five years.

In his speech, Wu Kongming, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, President of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, pointed out that developing the resource insect industry is an important measure to effectively expand the boundaries of traditional grains, embody the new national food security concept, and implement the "Big Food" concept. High-protein insects are not only edible but also a significant source of feed protein, offering a crucial solution to the shortage of feed protein. While the resource insect industry is rapidly developing, it still faces several challenges, including low consumer awareness of insect products, outdated processing equipment, low levels of automation, a need to improve standardized production, and further research and improvement of relevant policies and regulations. Going forward, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences will focus on the following areas. First, we will strengthen the top-level design of the resource insect discipline and, through continuous scientific and technological innovation, accelerate the development of new high-quality productivity in the resource insect field. Second, we will leverage the strategic scientific and technological strength of the resource insect field to provide strong scientific and technological support for building a diversified food supply system. Third, we will focus on the actual market demand for resource insect protein.

Elvis Yu, Vice Chairman of Asian Insect Food and Feed Industry Association(AFFIA), Founder and CEO of INSPRO SCIENCE LTD, shared the current status of international insect protein industry trade and his thoughts on the Chinese market.

At this conference, INSPRO was elected as the vice chairman unit of the China Insect Protein Industry Association. Its founder Elvis Yu and other guests held a special forum on topics such as "Efficient breeding and high-value utilization of resource insects", "Insect protein industrial application", and "Recycling of kitchen waste".
